Main tourist attractions in the Nainital trip


Naini Lake – Naini Lake or Nainital Lake is situated in the center of the Nainital and is a prime attraction where tourists can perform boating.

Naini temple – Naini temple is located on the northern shore of Naini lake. The presiding deity of the temple is Maa Naina Devi and is considered one of the Shaktipeetha temples.

Hanuman Garhi – Hanumangarhi also known as Hanuman Garh, is located at an altitude of 6000+ ft above sea level and is home to Lord Hanuman temple and excellent views of the area.

Naukuchiatal/Sattal/Bhimtal lakes – Considered lake districts of Kumaon, Bhimtal / Sattal / Naukuchiatal (5 Km from each other) are three high altitudes (3000 – 4500 ft above the sea level) lakes that offer green surroundings, wooded walks, excellent views, and where guests can also enjoy boating.

Jageshwar temple – It is situated 98 Kms from Nainital, and 35 Kms from Almora. It is a group of over 100 Hindu temples dated between 7th and 12th centuries. The temples are dedicated to the god Vishnu, Shakti goddesses, and Surya traditions of Hinduism.

Golu Devta –  Golu Devta is a god of the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Golu Devta is considered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Devotees use to write letters and keep them in the temple and once the wish of the devotees is fulfilled they offer bells in return.

Day 1: Delhi to Nainital (306 Kms covered in 7-8 Hrs by road)

We'll start sharp at 9 AM from New Delhi railway station. After 7 to 8 hrs of drive, we'll reach Nainital. Nainital (6500+ ft above sea level) is a renowned lakeside hill station in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Enjoy a boat ride at Naini lake and walk in the mall road in the evening. Overnight, stay at a 3 or 4-star hotel in Nainital.

Day 2: We will visit Kainchi dham / Bhimtal / Sattal / Naukuchiatal

After early breakfast at 8 AM first, we will visit Naini temple, then Hanuman Garhi, and finally to Kainchi Dham. This journey will be covered till 2:00 pm. Enjoy lunch and move towards the lake district of Kumaon (i.e. Sattal /Bhimtal/Naukuchiatal) (25 - 35 Kms from Nainital). Enjoy boating in serene Bhimtal lake. Overnight, stay at the hotel in Nainital.

Day 3: Nainital - Day visit to Almora / Ranikhet or walking in Pangot or simply relax

After breakfast, full-day excursion to Almora (68 Kms) / Ranikhet (55 Kms), two renowned Himalayan hamlets. Almora is renowned for the Jageshwar Shiva temple, Binsar Sanctuary (Bird watching and walks), and Himalayan views (Oct-March). Ranikhet is renowned for its Apple Orchards (best visited in summer), its laidback character (Cantonment, Heritage buildings), and Himalayan views (Oct-March). Experiential travelers may opt to visit Pangot (15 Kms) for walks/treks and bird watching. Guests looking to relax can just enjoy the lakeside character of the area. Overnight, stay at a hotel in Nainital.  

Day 4: Nainital to Delhi (306 Kms covered in 7-8 Hrs by road)

After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and will drive back to Delhi by evening. Our trip ends at New Delhi railway station.
