Kodaikanal is alluded to as the “Princess of Hill stations” and has a long history

Kodaikanal Lake– Kodaikanal Lake is a manmade lake that is a central attraction of the Hill station of Kodaikanal. Guests enjoy boating, rowing, and pedaling boats in the evenings.

Bryant Park– Bryant Park is a botanical garden near Bus stand spread over 20.5 acres having more than 300 species of trees, shrubs, and cactuses. There is a section in the park that has 700+ varieties of roses.

Coakers Walk– Coaker’s walk is a 1 km paved pedestrian path running along the edge of steep slopes near approachable from the lake. There is an observatory with a telescope halfway along the walk.

Bear Shola Falls– A waterfall 3 Kms from Kodaikanal town center. The final approach is a gentle walk.

Shembaganur Museum of Natural History– 6 Kms from town center, open to the public (except Tuesdays) having 500 species of animals, birds and insects and a living collection of over 300 exotic orchid species.

Pillar Rocks– Pillar rocks are a set of three rock pillars standing 122 meters high at 8 Kms from town center

Silver Cascade– 8 Kms from Kodaikanal, 55-meter waterfall formed from the outflow of Kodaikanal Lake. Kind of touristy and not good for bathing.

Ooty Lake– A lake, artificially constructed just for fishing purposes has now become one of the most popular tourist places in Ooty which has scenic views in every direction you see. It is a place you just cannot miss on your trip to Ooty.

Ooty Botanical Gardens– The Botanical Garden is spread over 22-acres and is in existence since the mid-1800s. A flower show is held every May. The Gardens have around a thousand species of plants, shrubs, ferns, trees, and herbal and bonsai plants.

Government Rose Garden– The Government rose garden is the largest rose garden in India with more than 20,000 varieties of roses

Wax Museum– A wax museum on Ooty Coonoor road that houses life-size wax statues of Indian personalities.

Raj Bhavan Ooty– Raj Bhavan Ooty is the summer residence of the Governor of Tamil Nadu. Gardens here consist of ornamental gardens in an area of about 9 acres, a rich lawn on 3 acres, four rosaries, two lily ponds, a sunken garden, two greenhouses, a vegetable garden, and a nursery.

St Stephens Church– St. Stephens Church on Mysore road is one of the oldest churches in the Nilgiris area dated back to the 19th century

Doddabetta Peak– A viewpoint surrounded by dense shola forests from where one can have a panoramic view of the area.

Thunder World – Looking for some fun activities to do around Ooty? Head to Thunder World, one of the famous Ooty places, also known as Dinosaur Park, located at North Lake Road, near the Ooty bus stand. Famous for the Haunted House, Jurassic Jungle, Vortex ride, and much more, this is one place that will be loved by kids in all age groups. This amusement park features a lot of dinosaur models that come with light and sound effects. This place combines themes like horror, technology, and history to give you a unique experience. Do not miss the Camera Museum, 5D theatre, and the Rain Forest when you’re here. There’s an indoor showroom and a food court as well.

Nilgiri Mountain Railway – World Heritage Site also is known as The Toy Train, built by the British, is an unparalleled activity to experience in our list of the best places to visit in Ooty. A journey in the toy train gives its passengers a lifetime experience as the ride offers you captivating landscapes, dense forests, a flowing river and the sun shining beautifully over them. It is the steepest track in Asia and as the train takes you to the higher altitudes, you will experience how treasured Nilgiri is. You’re going to witness a whole lot of panoramas on the ride. The 5 hours long Journey to Ooty is the time you won’t regret spending on this 46 Km track as it is an once-in-a-lifetime experience. The one-way journey starts from Mettupalayam. Dolphin’s Nose – It is the go-to place for nature lovers. The panoramic view it gives you is unquestionably beautiful. Adventure lovers and photographers would love it here, adding an adventurous blend to the places to visit in Ooty. The vast scenery decorated with Catherine Falls, Nilgiri Hills and lots of greenery is purely spectacular.

Sim’s Park – A park-cum-botanical garden surrounded by beautiful creepers, plants, flowers, and shrubs, Sim’s Park is abundant in nature. Established in 1847, the park is more than a 100-year old.  Some of the most popular plants and trees of the park include Queensland Karry Pine, the Bead Tree, and Handsome Ornamental Tree. The park is sprawled across an area of 12 hectares and is divided into 4 main sections, namely, small Lily Pond, boating area, rose garden, and flowering plants area.

The Tea Factory & The Museum – Residing in the lap of appeasing Nilgiris and spreading over an area of 1 acre, it is one of the Ooty sightseeing places and a highly recommended place for nature lovers and especially tea lovers. Tea Museum will let you in on the facts about tea, like, its origin, its evolution over time and other notable details that will blow your mind and you’ll never look at this refreshing beverage the same way as before. You’ll be intrigued by it. The Tea Factory will show you the mechanical and technical details of the entire procedure of tea making. You will get to taste it too.

Day 1: Coimbatore - Kodaikanal (175Kms/4-5 Hrs)

Arrive at Coimbatore airport and proceed to Kodaikanal. In the evening enjoy boating at Kodai Lake. Overnight, stay at a hotel in Kodaikanal.

Day 2: Kodaikanal

After breakfast sightseeing around Kodaikanal by visiting Green Valley, Pillar Rocks, Coakers Walk, Bryant Park, Shembaganur Museum of Natural History, Silver Cascade, Bear Shola Falls. Guests can choose options to visit accordingly to their preferences. Overnight, stay at a hotel in Kodaikanal.

Day 3: Kodaikanal - Ooty (250Kms/6-7 Hrs)

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Ooty. Check into your hotel and in the evening enjoy boating at Ooty Lake. Overnight, stay at a hotel in Ooty.

After breakfast, sightseeing options closer to Ooty to consider comprise Dodabetta Peak, Raj Bhawan, St Stephens Church, Rose garden, Botanical garden, Shooting point, Wax Museum. Overnight, stay at a hotel in Ooty.

Day5 : Ooty

After breakfast enjoy a train ride on the Nilgiri Mountain railway or a day excursion to Coonoor (25 Kms) visit tea plantations, Dolphin's Nose, Sim's park, return to Ooty by evening and if time permits visit tea factory and museum. Overnight, stay at a hotel in Ooty.

Day 6: Ooty - Coimbatore (90Kms/3-4 Hrs)

After breakfast check out from the hotel drop at Coimbatore airport for an onward journey.
