Mussoorie is situated in the state of Uttarakhand and falls under the district of Dehradun.

Main tourist attractions in the Mussoorie with Rishikesh trip


Gun Hill– A viewpoint accessible via a cable car ride from Mall road. There is also a reservoir here.

Mussoorie Lake– A Lake a few Kms before Mussoorie on Dehradun Road and is popular with tourists for boating and photo opportunities.

Sir George Everest House– Home of George Everest (after whom Mount Everest was named), first Surveyor General of India. The area offers excellent Himalayan views.

Lake Mist– A Lake located 5 Km before Kempty falls and where tourists arrive for boating and photo opportunities.

Kempty Falls– A popular but touristy waterfall at 15 Kms from Mussoorie Town.


Triveni Ghat– Evening Aarti is performed at Triveni Ghat. Ashes of the dead and ceremonies related to Shradh are performed here. Triveni is also a bathing Ghat where pilgrims take a dip in the holy Ganga River.

Rishikund– Rishikund is a holy pond and where the Shani temple is situated. Rishikund is a popular pilgrim visit option.

Ram Jhula– Ram Jhula is bigger and more picturesque than Lakshman Jhula but surprisingly lesser-known. It leads to a few known Ashrams in the area.

Lakshman Jhula– Lakshman Jhula (1939) is a 450 ft hanging Rope Bridge on the river Ganges near the Tapovan area in Rishikesh. It connects guests arriving on the other side of the river to the bathing Ghats area. It’s believed at this place Lakshman (Brother of Lord Rama) build a jute bridge to cross over the river and therefore the spot is also considered holy. A five-story temple is built on the other side of the bridge.

Bungee Jumping in Rishikesh– Jumping Heights, an adventure company offers Bungee Jumping and other adventure facilities en route Neelkanth Mahadev temple at about 20 Kms from Rishikesh. This is the first of its kind facility in India having a Jump of about 80 meters. Other activities comprise Flying fox.

Neelkanth Mahadev– Lord Shiva temple at 30 Kms from Rishikesh, set on a hill offering good views. This is the place where Lord Shiva is believed to have drunk the venom produced during Sagar Manthan

White Water Rafting– Rishikesh is very popular for its rafting on the River Ganga (Ganges). Season: September-November and March-April-May are ideal for rafting. Camps are set up between Mid-Sept and Mid-May by the river that facilitates rafting. Camps here conduct half-day and full-day rafting with Class III and Class IV Rapids with a lunch break in between.

Day 1: Delhi to Mussoorie (280Kms covered in 7-8 Hrs by road)

We'll start sharp at 9 AM from New Delhi railway station. After 7 to 8 hrs of drive, we'll reach Mussoorie by late afternoon. Mussoorie (6500+ ft above sea level), is a renowned hill station and a popular getaway at 30 kms from Dehradun. Visit mall road in the evening. Overnight, stay at hotel in Mussoorie.

Day 2: We will explore Mussoorie

After early breakfast at 8 AM first, we will take a Cable car ride to visit Gun Hill Point or visit Sir George Everest House (Offering Himalayan views). Visit Kempty Falls/Lake Mist/Mussoorie lake in the afternoon. Overnight, stay at a hotel in Mussoorie.

Day 3: We will visit Dhanaulti Ecopark/Jhari Pani/Nag Devta temple

After breakfast enjoys a half-day excursion to Dhanaulti Ecopark, 30 kms from Mussoorie. or undertake local sightseeing Jhari Pani, Jwalaji Temple, Nag Devta Temple OR visit Craft village of Himalayan Weavers or relax at the hotel. Overnight, stay at a hotel in Mussoorie.

Day 4: Mussoorie to Rishikesh (80Kms covered in 3-4 Hrs by road)

After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and drive to Rishikesh. Rishikesh is a Ganga riverside destination, renowned for its riverside and spirituality experiences that it offers. Visit Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Triveni Ghat, Rishikund, and other Ghat areas of Rishikesh. Overnight, stay at a hotel in Rishikesh.  

Day 5: Perform water rafting/Adventure at Rishikesh

After breakfast, we can opt for White water rafting (Half day) or visit an adventure sports center here that offers Bungee Jumping. Guests can also visit Neelkanth Mahadev (30 kms - 1 hour one way), time permitting. Overnight, stay at a hotel in Rishikesh.

Day 6: Rishikesh to Delhi (250 Kms covered in 6-7 Hrs by road)

After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and will drive back to Delhi by evening. Our trip ends at New Delhi railway station.
